JANUARY - FEBRUARY
TASTE MENDOCINO - CELEBRATING REGIONAL BOUNTY

Taste Mendocino, Celebrating Regional Bounty, kicks off with a weekend of fresh shellfish and wine events beginning Friday, January 25, 2008 on the Mendocino Coast.
The new Flavor Festival combines established Mendocino County events, including Crab & Wine Days, the Wine & Mushroom Festival, and the Alsace Varietals Festival in Anderson Valley (February 9-10).
The first Festival weekend kicks off with a Cioppino Dinner in Fort Bragg’s Noyo Harbor on Friday, January 25th. Then, on Saturday the 26th, the public is invited to the Ninth Annual Crab Cake Cook-off and wine tasting, featuring Mendocino County chefs serving crab cakes made with local Dungeness crab, accompanied by Mendocino County wines . Guests are invited to judge crab cakes and their favorite wine for the People’s Choice awards, while celebrity judges choose the professional winners. Proceeds from the weekend events benefit Mendocino Coast Clinics, which serve the entire Mendocino Coast.
In addition to wine and crab, the Regional Flavor Bounty offers tastings of locally-grown and produced products including wild mushrooms, chocolate and even seaweed. Seminars on mushroom collecting, food and wine pairing, cooking demonstrations at restaurants throughout the County, winemaker dinners, whale watching and crab fishing expeditions happen throughout the Festival. It all ends with the Alsace Varietals Festival in the Anderson Valley, February 9-10, 2008.

MARCH
MENDOCINO WHALE AND WINE FESTIVAL, MENDOCINO: MARCH 1 & 2, 2008
More than 15 Mendocino County wineries bring their unique vintages for tasting to the village shops, galleries and inns. A free trolley awaits to whisk you off to participating merchants and nearby events, like the chowder tasting, whale watching walks, plein air artists' exhibits, arts and crafts fair and fine woodworking exhibit. The Point Cabrillo Lighthouse, three miles north of Mendocino, offers activities for the whole family all weekend, including information on the shipwreck the Frolic and the whale migration. Take a walk on the Mendocino Headlands to see the whales or take a charter boat out to see them up close!
FORT BRAGG WHALE FESTIVAL, FORT BRAGG: MARCH 15 & 16, 2008
The Fort Bragg Whale Festival brings nearly 20 regional microbreweries to town, offering their best pilsners, stouts and ales for tasting at historic Eagle's Hall. Other events include a 5K and 10K Walk and Run on the headlands, a classic car show, arts & crafts fair, chowder tasting, art exhibits and guided whale walks at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens and MacKerricher State Park. While in Fort Bragg, don't forget to plan a whale watching boat tour on the sea with Whale Watching Charter Boats out of Noyo Harbor. Also that weekend, the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse offers great activities for the whole family, including information on the migration of our gentle giants of the Pacific.

MENDOCINO FILM FESTIVAL, MAY 29 - JUNE 1, 2008
Mendocino is a magical place for film and all creative arts. Over the past 101 years, Mendocino has been the location to over 60 films including East of Eden, Summer of '42, and Same Time Next Year. MENDOCINO ART CENTER ANNUAL GARDEN TOUR
The Garden Tours will take place on a Saturday and Sunday, mid-June. Visitors can enjoy beautiful and diverse gardens covering a range of the Mendocino Coast from Fort Bragg to Little River. Included in the tour will be a catered lunch. The weekend will include a walking tour of Mendocino Village Gardens. A leisurely stroll through the picturesque, historic village will enable visitors to enjoy lovingly maintained gardens interspersed between restored Victorian buildings. The tour culminates at the Garden Art Show at the Mendocino Art Center Gallery, where refreshments will be served. This event is a benefit for the Mendocino Art Center. MENDOCINO MUSIC FESTIVAL, JULY
For two weeks each summer in July the town of Mendocino is engulfed by music- jazz, classical, blues, Big Band and more. When the Mendocino Music Festival puts up its big, white performance tent residents know the music is about to start. This year, the concerts will begin on Tuesday, July 12th and run each evening through Saturday, July 23rd. In addition, there will be afternoon concerts and numerous daytime rehearsals that are free to the public.y 23rd. WORLD'S LARGEST SALMON BBQ IN NOYO HARBOR
For over thirty years, the Salmon Restoration Association (SRA) has hosted the World's Largest Salmon BBQ to benefit the Hollow Tree Hatchery. The whole community comes together to celebrate the salmon runs on Independence Day Weekend, to support salmon fishing and raise money for our locally owned and operated hatchery on the Eel River in Mendocino County.
Escape the heat and head for Noyo on the Mendocino Coast, listen to the band and enjoy hot grilled salmon with the world-famous marinade, with salad, corn on the cob, and garlic bread. ART IN THE GARDENS
Everybody loves a party, and what could be better than a garden party? On a Saturday in August, the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens hosts their annual Art in the Gardens fundraiser, the best garden party on the coast. Imagine a beautiful summer day on the glorious and rugged Mendocino Coast, where over 50 local artists, a dozen of the finest Mendocino County wineries and the coast's favorite musicians come together to create a dynamic event in the heart of the Botanical Gardens.
Wineries will pour samples throughout the day as guests visit with local artists. Wine and art are available for sale, with all profits going to the Gardens, a nonprofit educational organization. Gourmet picnic baskets feature the finest local food and wine, and there are many quiet locations throughout the Gardens where visitors can enjoy these culinary delights. The volunteer staffed barbecue is another favorite spot for grazing throughout the day with a wide menu offering something for everyone. Musicians will grace two stages during the event, adding to the ambiance and charm of a delightful summer day.

WINESONG! CHARITY AUCTION AND TASTING
Indulge in the natural beauty and relaxed pace of the Mendocino Coast and make plans now to spend a memorable weekend in early September at the Annual Winesong! Charity Auction and Tasting. This one of a kind outdoor event offers an opportunity to sample fine wine and delicious food and bid at the auctions in a setting not available to any other wine event in Northern California.

BREWERY GULCH INN MAKES MERRY ON THE MENDOCINO COAST CANDLELIGHT INN TOUR
From December 5 through 7, 2007, inns in North Coast towns celebrate the holiday season with gorgeous and extravagant old-fashioned decorations and open-house hospitality.
